Inventory Settings

Items scroll amount

This value is necessary only if the user can put objects in the inventory.

Font

Sets the font for the command text. This is necessary only if the command text is displayed on the inventory.

Offset

This is necessary only if either Displacement: at current mouse position or absolute is selected. If you set at current mouse position the offset value means the distance between the upper left corner of the inventory and the current mouse position where it is displayed. If absolute is selected the offset value means the coordinates on which the inventory will be displayed.

Displacement

You can adjust the inventory here, e.g. its position on the screen. Top means the top of the screen, bottom means the screen's bottom; the inventory and the horizontal resolution should have the same width. Left adjusts the inventory to the left edge and Right to the right edge. The inventory and the vertical resolution should have the same height. Absolute and relativ only make sense if you can open/close the inventory by pressing a mouse button, because they do not reduce the area in which the scene can be displayed.

Height/Width of bag (in pixels)

This value has to greater than 0 to be valid and if the inventory is adjusted to the edge, otherwise it will be ignored. The inventory usually has same width and height than its background image.

A short example:

Create an inventory adjusted to the bottom with a height of 100 pixel. On the top of it there are flowers and some grass which hide some parts of the background. The height of the background image for the inventory is 150 pixels and the height of the bag would be set to 100 pixels.

Start the following action when the cursor is leaving the bag

A reasonable appliance would be to create an inventory which can be shown with a key and disappears with this action when the cursor is leaving the inventory.

Place the action-text independent of the bag on the scene

If selected the action-text will be displayed on the scene at the coordinates which have been set with the tool Set text-rectangle. The position of the bag has no influence on this.

Tools

Create and edit polygonal areas

To create a border around a new button select the desired button in the list below. Thereafter use the left mouse button to create a new border. Every additional left click will add another point which will be linked to the previous one automatically. To close the polygon click on the first point again or click the right mouse button. The point highlighted in red is th current one. Use the del key on the keyboard to delete the current point. To move the point use the arrow keys or use the drag and drop method. To select a border press inside it if you aren't creating a polygon (it will be painted red). You can move the whole polygon by using the arrow keys or drag and drop. The 'del' key will delete the polygon. A right click will release the polygon from selection and the borders of all buttons will be displayed again.

Place active button graphics

All existing active graphics of the command buttons and scroll buttons are displayed with a grey border. You can select one by clicking its border and move it by keeping the mouse button pressed or by using the arrow keys on your keyboard. Clicking on the play button next to a graphic will show/hide it. This is very helpful to check if it is on the correct position.

Set text-rectangle

You can choose between two methods of displaying the command text: at a fixed position or next to the cursor. If you want the text to be displayed at a fixed position please draw a rectangle inside which the text will be displayed. To move it use drag and drop. Pressing ESC will remove the selected rectangle again. If there is no rectangle, the command text will be displayed next to the cursor.

Set polygon of bag-border

You'll have to create polygon to mark the edge of an inventory if it is not rectangular. A left click will create a new polygon; every additional click will add another point, which is connected to the previous one automatically. The red point marks your last point. It can be moved by pressing the left button on it and moving the mouse or simply by using the arrow keys on the keyboard. The ESC key will remove the point again. To finish the edge click on the first point again. If you want to edit an existing polygon simply click inside to select it. The polygon's colour is changed to red and it can be moved as described above for a single point. To unselect the polygon press the right mouse button.
